Chestnut-backed Chickadee [Poecile rufescens] ~ 2016 #22

I hope you had a good Easter weekend. It’s been a busy weekend filled with family, sunshine … and way too much chocolate! 😀

The Chestnut-backed Chickadee is a cute little bird, full of personality. I’d never noticed this particular species until last year, when we got a flock of them to take seed from our hand at Stanley Park.

This year we were hoping to see them but I only spotted few in a tree, and they weren’t interested in our offerings, probably a lot of food coming up naturally so they don’t need the seed supplements so much.
