There are over 100 nests at the Great Blue Heron colony at Stanley Park, which is unique in that it is basically in the downtown area. This picture doesn’t do it justice but there’s one spot by the Tennis Courts where the tops of all the trees contain nests. Here’s a link to a website containing information about this colony.
BCSONGBIRD 
Fascinating! I’ve never known of great blue herons nesting in an urban area like this. Their nests are so exposed in the bare tree branches.

It is pretty amazing to see … one year I’ll figure out the right angle to get more nests in view.
