Welcome to my blog!

Spring time is here and I feel like I’m coming out of hibernation.  I’ve been toying around with the idea of starting a blog for sometime and with spring in the air I’m feeling inspired.  I am thinking this blog is a good way for me to share some of my hobbies, and perhaps even share some of my challenges and successes.

The past few years I’ve really been getting into photography, ever since I treated myself to a Nikon D3200 DSLR camera a few Christmas’s ago.  What I love to take pictures of the most are our feathered friends.  I love taking my camera out and seeing what birds I can capture, and starting this spring I’m going to make an effort to keep track of the birds I see.  My main goal is to use this as a forum to track my sightings and share my findings.

I am also a singer.  I have enjoyed singing for as long as I can remember.  I mostly sing for myself, or for an emotional release, but have had the pleasure of singing with a few bands.  Currently I sing with my friends in Lillooet, The Wild Onions, and even though I live 4 hours away we still manage to get together for a couple of gigs a year.  I also have been trying to learn how to play guitar for years, and told myself that this year I was going to start building a repertoire of songs that I can sing and back myself up on the guitar.  My secondary goal is to share my videos and hopefully I can present some progress on the guitar playing front.

I also love being a mom. Although being a single mom can be a little challenging at times, I love my son with all my heart and wouldn’t change anything.  He makes me want to be a better person.    My life as a mom may inspire me on occasion to share some stories. I am excited to dip my toe in the blogging world.  Now, time to figure out how this all works!
