On Canada Day my son and went for a stroll around Colony Farm Regional Park. Not a lot of birds were out on this day, it was pretty sunny and very hot so I’m sure most birds were keeping cool in the trees and bushes. However as we were crossing the bridge, while heading back to the car, I saw some raptor flying in close and then watched it as it hovered over the bushes pretty close by. It didn’t hang out long and was soon flapping into the horizon. I’m pretty sure this was the Northern Harrier, a lifer for me!
