I will admit this post is rather lacking, but my goal with this blog was to see how many different birds I could id each year, and get the pictures to prove it. I ran across this little Nuthatch while walking through the Reifel Bird Sanctuary. I was looking up in the trees to see what I could see, hoping to catch a better picture of a Woodpecker, or perhaps luck out and spot an owl.
When I saw this little bird I knew what it was and wanted to get a picture. However this bird seemed to have a sixth sense and just as I would click the shutter the bird would move. As a result I got this picture, as well as a few very fuzzy pictures. It was enough to confirm the sighting so I’m adding the Red-breasted Nuthatch as my 78th bird seen in 2015. Really hoping to get more than just a butt next time I see one.
