This next bird is another lifer for me. There was one (maybe two?) Horned Grebe hanging around with the other water birds. I didn’t recognize it initially as a Horned Grebe as the pictures I had seen were of this bird in it’s breeding plumage (and they look pretty fantastic!). However this guy was exhibiting the more subdued winter, non breeding plumage.
