I love hummingbirds, they’re pretty much in my top 5.
When we went to Stanley Park in February we ran across this little Anna’s in the picture above it was doing some great aerobatics where it would shoot up high in the sky, and then come dive bombing down which resulted in a sound that was created by their tail feathers. According to allaboutbirds.org this behavior was his courtship display. I lucked out and managed to catch him perched on a branch while he caught his breath.

We went for a lovely walk last weekend to the Rose Gardens at Stanley Park. While some folks on the East Coast were still contending with the cold and snow, we were enjoying the sunshine on a 20+ degree day, soaking up all the lovely tulips and daffodils that were in full bloom. A few birds were also enjoying the sunshine and did see a few Anna’s on our walk, usually perched on the very tops of the trees. This picture above had to be cropped quite heavily as he was a little far away.
