There’s a few photographers/birders that I’ve been following on WordPress as well as Flickr. A few pictures started popping up saying the beautiful Mountain Bluebird was showing up at the beach, around the Lacarno area. We stopped at Spanish Banks on Saturday afternoon to see what we could see and the first thing we spotted was the Eagle that I talked about in my previous post.

After spotting the Eagle we proceeded to hit the beach and within a minute my son pointed to this piece of driftwood and said, “Look at that grey bird over there!” I guess my eyes aren’t what they used to be because I had to ask him again where he saw it. I was pretty thrilled that he had found one of the birds I was searching for, and pretty quickly at that.

He was so cute, chirping up a storm and letting me get pretty close without getting spooked. I’m always thrilled to see a bird that I haven’t spotted before. And was even more happy that he let me get a few good shots in!

Thank-you to the other birders who share their sightings!
This was indeed a lovely bird… I was quite happy to see it not once, but twice! I hope it comes back again next year.
