These little guys really should have appeared closer to the top of my list. I’m pretty sure this was the variety that I was seeing in Lillooet, and these are the ones that my cats will watch from the window of my apartment. The tricky part is getting photographic evidence. I’ve tried to get a decent picture of these guys in flight, and I tell you when I get one I’ll be one happy camper.

On our walk through Reifel there were many Swallows that were taking it easy and perching on the nesting boxes or up high on bare branches. Still a little too far away to get a good clear shot, but at least they were staying still so I could get more than a blur. Last year we were lucky enough to spot a nest in an old tree, right beside the path close to the viewing tower. This picture on the side is one of my faves from last year.

The next day we took a walk through Colony Farm Regional Park and also managed to capture a few pictures of them taking a break on the fence posts. When I watch these sweet little birds playfully darting through the air it kind of makes me wish I was a bird.
