Last Sunday our park of choice was Colony Farm Regional park. We started walking down the path from the parking lot and saw some commotion in the tree ahead. At the time I wasn’t exactly sure what I was looking at but this guy was jumping from branch to branch and knew I should snap some shots before he flew off. Sure enough, after snapping a few shots he flew off. I looked in my viewfinder and used my Merlin app to identify this Black-headed Grosbeak. Another first for me! I didn’t spot this one again in my journey so all I had were the few shots I had hastily snapped, and unfortunately most of those shots found him hiding behind the leaves. I’ll be keeping my eye out for this handsome fellow in the future.
