The Wood Duck is a fabulous looking duck. I love the colours on the drake, some black and white accents with everything in between. He looks especially handsome when he fluffs up his head plumage while trying to impress the ladies.
The picture above shows off the male wonderfully but I wasn’t happy that the hen in the foreground is out of focus. I find the females to be more subdued, but one of the prettiest ducks around. The picture below, taken last fall, shows her off her colours a little bit better.
