Black-capped Chickadee [Poecile atricapillus] ~ 2016 #33

I absolutely love the Black-capped Chickadee. They are just so cute they make me smile pretty much every time I see them. My son and I will take a trip to the bird Sanctuary in the winter time just so we can hand feed the chickadees. There are chickadees there year round, but they’re not as interested in taking food from us humans when they have so much natural, fresh stuff everywhere.

This chickadee below was pretty cute. He landed on this stem and promptly bit off one of the flower buds.   I’m not sure if he was pretending to be fierce (like “you are no match for me – I AM CHICKADEE!”) or was genuinely confused as to where his flower went.  Little bird, big attitude. ❤
