The Greater Yellowlegs is a member of the Sandpiper family. At Reifel I usually spot them at the West Field Ponds or the western side of the Southwestern Marsh. They are usually a little distance away and I have to really look over the tall grasses in order to spot them.
They are very similar to the Lesser Yellowlegs but as I understand it the beak of the Lesser is darker. The other way you can tell the difference I’m told is by their call, but I’ve never watched them long enough to figure that out yet.
